Hello I'm Tymisha, a singer/songwriter hailing from Hull, East Yorkshire.
I thought I would introduce myself on here so you can paint a picture of who I am.
I have been singing for as long as I remember, I started singing in choirs, school plays and literally any singing group I could.
When I turned 14 I joined the Hull youth Choir which installed my love and passion for music further. Encouraging me to look deeper into harmonies, technique and styles. I did a lot with the Hull Youth Choir like tour Prague with the Hull Youth Orchestra and play the Royal Albert Hall, Youth Proms.
This was my first taste of what working in the music world was like and I loved it!
I then went onto joining the amazing charity Freedom Road Creative Arts, which I would later work at as a guitar and vocals tutor.
Freedom Road gave me the space and the confidence to find myself as an artist at such a young age. With access to some of the biggest stages in Hull I was able to perfect my craft by being thrown into the deep end and I loved every moment of it.
From here they helped me to create my own music by giving me guidance and helping me to become a well rounded musician.
Creating My Own Music
I started to write my own songs at the age of 15 after learning the guitar and I fell in LOVE with writing and creating.
The first song I wrote was "Thin White Lines" when I was 15/16 and it is still one of my favourite songs to date. This song will be released soon for you guys to hear.
After writing my first song I had a creative outburst which lead to me writing enough songs to perform my solo set live. (some of these songs I don't play much anymore but I still love them)
Writing songs for me is like therapy, I get to release all of my energy into words, notes and riffs and I love the freedom I have when writing. Its like when I write, something takes over me and pours all of my feelings out.
A lot of my songs are about my life experiences and writing about it is me dealing with them. I hope that through my writing, that maybe someone could feel clarity from them.
After starting my solo career properly at age 16 I have played some amazing places and stages.
A lot of them are in Hull but for the last year I have been getting up and down the country which I have loved. I have managed to play in Leeds, Manchester, Harrogate, Liverpool and York.
Some of my favourite places to play have been Humber Street Sesh, The Social (Hull), The Fenton (Leeds), The Adelphi (Hull), Rural Fest (Harrogate) and Trinity Church (Hull). I look forward to the time when I can add to this list.
I would describe my music currently as a blend of Indie and Folk. Combined with spacious, ethereal vocals. Over the next couple of years I am looking to experiment more with Classical Vocals and Jazz.
My First Single
I released my first single on the 26th May, 2023. This single is called "Avangeline".
Releasing Avangeline was a big step for me as showing people my work is a really scary thing to do. Me and Francis Gill (my producer) worked tirelessly on this song to make sure it sounded just right.
It took me ages to release and record anything as I could never seem to find the right person for me. That was until I met Francis Gill.
Francis helps to come up with ideas, experiment and create music to the best of my ability. Working with Francis has been the only time I have ever been happy in a recording studio. I finally found someone who understood my creative vision and someone who was willing to work with me on it.
Releasing my first single was really scary as I had no idea what to do. But saying that I think it has done really well.
Considering it is my first single I have had around 4,500 streams in the first three months!
I am really proud of the way this has gone and I know look forward to the process of releasing my next single.
You can listen to "Avangeline" on all streaming platforms, so pleaseee streammm meeee ! :)

What's Next?
There is so much more I could tell you about my musical journey so far, but these are the main highlights.
I hope for the future that I get to play up and down the UK more in the amazing venues we have here and I also hope to grow my audience and release more music.
Keep up to date on what's going on in my world by reading my blogs, following my socials and streaming my songs.
Tymisha x
